
Vinod Khanna
Vinod Khanna from New Delhi, India, was elected to serve a two-year
term as a director of The International Association of Lions Clubs at the association’s
90th International Convention, held in Chicago, Illinois, USA, July 2-6, 2007.
Director Khanna is a businessman specializing in self-adhesive papers and tile adhesives
and importing building materials.
A member of the New Delhi South Lions Club and a Lion since 1977, Director Khanna
has held many offices within the association, including club president, zone chairperson,
district governor, multiple district Lions Quest chairperson, council chairperson
and multiple district Club Extension chairperson. He served as a member of two international
convention election committees and as chairperson of the Parade of Nations Indian
Contingent at two international conventions. He has also served as treasurer of
“All Lions Meet,” editor of the “Indian Lions” magazine, treasurer and vice chairperson
of the MDCCI Indian coordination body and member of the ISAAME Forum organizing
committee.
In recognition of his service to the association, Director Khanna has received numerous
awards, including a Club Lion of the Year Award, the 100% Club Attendance Award,
an Extension Award, a 25 Member Key Award, a District Lion of the Year Award, a
District P.R.O. Gem of the Year Award, the District Governor’s Outstanding Award,
a Best Zone Chairperson Award, three International President’s Certificates, the
100% District Governor’s Award, three International President’s Leadership Awards
and six International President’s Medals. He is also a Melvin Jones Fellow.
In addition to his Lions activities, Director Khanna is active in numerous professional
and community organizations. He has served as trustee of the Lions Hospital in Khizarabad,
of the District 321-A1 Lions Service Trust and of the District 321-A2 Lions Blood
Bank. He has also served as an executive member of multiple social organizations.
Director Khanna and his wife, Renu, also a Lion, have three children.
